Hi,

I wanted to know from anyone that has had tethered cord surgery if

they have had any complications from the surgery

like.....instability of the lumbar spine or anything else for that

matter.

I still don't understand what they do in the surgery to your lumbar

spine to snip whatever. But i hear they have to break into?? your

lumbar spine and well that makes me wonder if any instability would

develop and like then afterwards one would need a fusion i would say

if they did develop instabilty in their lumbar spine.

Also, is the tethered cord surgery a one shot deal or is it a type

of surgery that with its odds (whatever the odds are) you would need

more surgery for tehered cord surgery.

I would appreciate any responses..i'm actually scheduled for

tethered cord surgery on the 19th.

thanks,

monica in chicago
