Guest guest
a, We've been taking this tonic everyday for a few months. Cold and flu season has not set in full force but we have been able to ward off bugs that have been going around so far(especially my 13 yr old-there's always something going around in her class) Take equal parts of garlic, onion, horseradish, ginger and 1/2 part cayenne. Put them in a blender with some apple cider vinegar and process on the highest setting.\ We have been taking about 1/2-1 tsp per day and that seems to be enough for now. Guest guest
Bonnie, I made enough to fill up almost empty ACV bottle. I can't remember but I used either 1/2 or 1/4 cup of everything. I used enough ACV to make it very liquid. The other stuff settles at the bottom of the bottle and it looks like 1/4-1/3 of the garlic stuff and the rest if ACV. I would think the more of the garlic stuff-the better. That combination works for us. I don't think I would be able to get my kids to take it everyday if the cayenne was any stronger. I keep it at room temp and have had no problems. I hope I didn't make this confusing. Ann
Guest guest
a, at the first sign of a cold, my husband and i load up on vitamin C for a few days and take echinacea. - although, like you said, this happens less often with a NT diet. but, it does seem to work. my husband is very prone to getting sick when he is stressed and he has managed to avoid missing days of work by taking 6-9grams of vitamin C throughout the day along with echinacea tablets. also, we avoid all sweeteners during this period like the plague, even natural ones. watch for sugars in medicine too - so many are loaded with sugar, same for children's vitamins. the other remedy - which made a *huge* difference was getting a humidifier, we run it during these dry months of fall and winter (live in land). it keeps the fluids running in the sinus cavities making an infection less likely. good luck, deanna ----- Original Message ----- From: <luisaperkins@...> < > Sent: Tuesday, November 13, 2001 9:02 AM Subject: Children and colds Does anyone have any help for kids with colds? We've had far fewer since eating the NT way, but they do still seem to linger. I've got three down today with stuffy noses and red throats. They've had their butter oil and cod liver oil already today, but I'd love other suggestions and favorite remedies. a
Guest guest
Cold remedy - One or two drops of hydrogen peroxide (3% - doesn't need to be food grade) in each ear two or three times a day. It's a great preventative, once every other day, or so. It takes a little longer to work after the cold has become stronger, but it still eases the intensity significantly. ----- Original Message ----- From: luisaperkins@... Guest guest
If they have sore throats have them gargle with some NT ginger ale. It will stop the sore throat in its tracks.
Guest guest
Ann, Do make just enough of this for your family for one day at a time or do you make more? Do you refrigerate it or keep it at room temperature? Do you use just enough apple cider vinegar to get a good blending consistency? Guest guest
I don't know about children, since mine are grown and gone, but the first time I feel anything at all, I use lots of Vitamin C with bioflavanoids (1 gram at least 3-4 times a day) , Echinacea (2 capsules at least 3-4 times a day), and I get chinese food with hot garlic sauce! I swear that burns out anything. Mexican would probably work too. Works everytime in 24 hours! Shalom! Carol in SE Illinois luisaperkins@... wrote: > Does anyone have any help for kids with colds?
