Guest guest
Re: billing departments and denials Mark: You are not alone. About 15 years ago, I worked in a hospital system who did not have a clue about therapy denials, through a lot of persistence, I was able to network with the billing department and review the denials. We over turned some and used the rest for an opportunity to educate the staff on documentation. People thought I was crazy at the time. Well, the trickle down effect has finally reached the therapy departments. I have been involved with many therapists in similar situations. As the $$$$$ gets tighter and tighter, the hospital based therapist should anticipate more questions and accountablity for the denials. Each system runs differently, yet some similarities are there. Being proactive is the way to go. CFO and CEO that realize you are on top of the issues will give more latitude. Sheri L.
