Guest guest
MSM is good for Emphysema, it softens the tissue. DMSO is good for breaking down the cross linking between collagen, which helps flatten scar tissue or excessive collagen. DMSO Natures Healer and MSM The Definitive Guide both have references to emphysema. Taking MSM would help as well. For the body odor just take a 50 mg tablet of chlorophyll, or two. It does the trick for me and the dogs when they are on DMSO. I don't get much odor on low topical use but oral use or lots of topical I need the chlorophyll. It is also a blood cleanser so great for you. Alfalfa tonic or tabs might have enough in there to have the same effect. Each of us varies as to how much odor we get, that is how much Dimethyl Sulfide we produce from a given amount of DMSO, whether it is in our food or from a bottle. It is individual and some people get less than others, could also depend on the state of your metabolism I suppose. Compressing is a great way to apply it to an injury. Drinking it is not the easiest way to use it, but is very effective in the case of head trauma, and also I would use it myself if I thought I was having a stroke or heat attack, at least 4 cc orally. I would not hesitate to slow push an IV on myself if I thought the symptoms warranted it. Slow push to lessen the slight lysing of red blood cells that occurs on injection. The doses are discussed in the above two books, but dose is individual, and toxicity is not an issue. There are just general guidelines of 4 ml a day orally. Remember that it took 40,000 the therapeutic dose to even begin to establish a lethal dose in lab animals so the margin of safety is huge with DMSO. Just don't boil it or inhale the heated vapors, that is the one form of DMSO that is lethal, but it does not boil until 365* so not a real likelihood to have occur. I use it topically when ever I need it, generally 30 -70% depending on the sensitivity of the area. For arthritis I use a 90% roll on on my knees after putting Emu and Peppermint Oil on first. Peppermint to warm the area and Emu for both antinflammatory and moisturizing properties. IT is great stuff. www.lbemuoil.com is a good source. It seems to keep me pain free most of the time with only occasional use. My knees hurt worst when I am on my feet all weekend at a dog show and I use it three or four times a day. This past show weekend they did not hurt at all! But I have a new toy that I am trying on arthritis and trauma. A Multi Wave Oscillator, after Lakhovsky (Google his name for more info from the work he did early in the 20th century). The MWO is amazing for pain and inflammation. I have used it on injuries and arthritic knees with what seems to be permanent improvement and not just symptomatic relief. The circuits for this MWO were posted on the Internet by Key, but it is made by Dr Bill Biagioli. I have used the Tesla Coils passively too, to sleep on, unpowered, and they also seem to help. Dr Bill sells them for a small sum. I ordered two 9 " and one 6 " with my machine. I am new to the electronic side of healing so this is my first foray into any of these types of electrically powered healing devices. So I am learning by doing. Guest guest
Bacteria, viruses, mycoplasma and any other organisms are all too large. DMSO will only transport molecules that are 1000 daltons Molecular Weight or less. That cuts out all organisms and many larger molecules. To find the Molecular Weight of a substance you can check the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet). It is often on the upper right hand corner or somewhere on the form. I use DMSO in my mouth frequently for various things. A toothache, an infected gum, a canker sore. I have 7 rambunctious dogs, 2 of them are under a year old so I end up with split lip about once a month from one of them getting overly excited and bumping me in the mouth. I can clear a mouth laceration in a matter of a day or so and if it turns into a canker sore, which seems to happen often with this type of cut, one application of DMSO and CS dries it up. Garnet Dirk Coetsee wrote: Sorry Garnet, you misunderstood. I mean, how can you be sure it's safe if you take it orally. I am sure it's safe topically, but if you put it in your mouth, what about all the things that live in your mouth? It is not the most clean place. Is it really safe this way? Thanks Dirk
Guest guest
It stings if I put it on a canker sore, but just a little bit and it stops pretty quick. Definitely not the kind of pain that would stop me from using it. Canker sores are very painful so drying them up quickly is worth the momentary stinging it causes. As for drinking it, you can dilute it and just put a single drop in your mouth to find out what it feels like for you. I mix it with milk when I use it for my dogs or cats. They don't seem to notice it much at all. For myself I just dilute it with CS and I make sure my stomach is empty. If you have food in your stomach it can make you feel a bit nauseous, I assume because it is such a strong antioxidant, but I am not sure why. It is very warming. I would not take it full strength, probably would start with about 20 or 30% just to see. I am not suggesting you use Coke but I have just to see if it disguised the taste. It does so very well but I have concerns about what is in Coca Cola. <smile> Since it absorbs so well topically and I use it predominantly for trauma and arthritis I don't take it orally. I suppose it could be put into a gelatin capsule or drunk through a straw. I hear that can help with bad tasting substance. Although I would not say the taste is all that bad. I have not found much about personal experiences with regular oral use. I believe people try it and find it not something they want to do regularly. Why do you want to use it orally rather than topically and by nebulizer for lung issues? It is delivered in higher concentration by direct topical application so that route makes a lot of sense. For a heart attack or a stroke, closed head injury or whole body trauma such as in a car accident then orally or slow IV push makes more sense than topical, to me. Enemas actually absorb very quickly. They by pass the stomach and the mouth solving those two issues. But many people are not comfortable with them and have little knowledge of the proper procedure. DMSO is dehydrating. It is a diuretic which means you pee out more water. When I give it to my animals I am always sure to allow them to go outside more and have plenty of water. I also monitor their hydration level with the skin pinch test. Pinch up a fold of skin and let go. It should go back in place quickly. If it is slower than normal it indicates a need for water AND electrolytes. Water alone will not rehydrate as quickly as something like Pediolyte or even a sports drink. Juicing celery is also a good source of electrolytes. There are many fruits and veggies that have significant amounts of electolytes and don't taste bad like Pediolyte but it is convenient and should be in every home medicine chest IMHO.
