Individuals who use or may use consumer direction for their long-term

services and supports, their parents and guardians, service provider,

and advocates are invited to apply for membership on the Consumer

Direction Workgroup by January 19, 2009. The workgroup helps the

health and human services agencies develop options for greater

consumer control of their home-based, long-term services and supports

such as personal attendants and respite care providers.

HHSC is accepting applications from:

Consumers who use or may use consumer directed services or the

Service Responsibility Option for home-based services.

Consumers in the STAR+PLUS or Integrated Care Management (ICM)

program.

Parents or guardians of children who receive or will receive services

through Personal Care Services, a new Medicaid program. (Personal

Care Services provides consumers who are age 20 or younger with

assistance performing daily living activities, attendant care and

other health-related functions).

Advocates for people who are disabled or who are age 65 or older and

are consumers of home-based long-term services and supports programs.

Providers of services to people who are disabled or who are age 65 or

older and are consumers of home-based long-term services and supports

programs.
