Guest guest
We have used Turbo PT for almost two years. Previously, we used PTOS. Our former Assistant Administrator chose Turbo because it was Windows 95 based and could be used on our peer-to-peer Win95 network so that the receptionist could enter data as the day progressed while the bookkeeper could enter payments and the administrative folks could pull down reports. It cost $4500. Then there was the time for folks to learn to use it, followed by the $450/year tech support service. We use QuickBooks Pro v6.0 for our company finances, and it is very useful to us. In contrast, we have not been pleased with the reports that Turbo gives us. We also have had a disaster when trying to look back at data on archived accounts for a Medicare cost report. It doesn't take too many of those disappointments to regret buying a product, and we all certainly regret buying Turbo PT. On the other hand, PTOS is a ~$3500. DOS based product (a drawback to us) and was not as accessible to the network. In retrospect, we should have just spent the extra $1200 or so per clinic to get the PTOS product upgrade. I have recommended PTOS to several clients over the past 10 years without a complaint. Well, maybe a few! I visited with the former Asst. Administrator last week, and he said that choosing Turbo over PTOS was his only regret during his time with us. (In some organizations, a $4500 error would be adequate grounds for a severe career change! We didn't do that.)
