Guest guest
Happy Saturday everyone...anyone else go through this? Yesterday I was sitting on the couch and leaned back to place a pillow under my head when I injured my neck. I had leaned into the back of the couch and it felt like my plate, and rods came off of my skull. It's hard to explain. I have been in pain since then. I have a feeling of throat tightness, pain in my left side of my neck radiating into my face and left ear. I also have pain in my collarbones on each side. When I move I hear a cracking type sound in my neck. I am also getting some arterial spasms again in my neck. My legs were feeling very weak before my injury yesterday, but after I hurt myself, my legs seemed to feel better. It feels as if the screws holding the plate in are " backing out " . This " backing out " feeling has been going on for several weeks. Immediately after surgery, I was happy to feel that my lower jaw/teeth were not pushing out and into my upper jaw/teeth, but at about 3 weeks post op I could feel this same lower teeth pushing against my upper teeth. Now I look as if I have " buck teeth " . My lower back ( where the TC surgery was done) is also " popping " a lot. My primary concern though is my injury yesterday. I have been able to sleep 1 1/2 hours last night. I was finally off my dilaudid and only taking 7.5mg of methadone/day. After I hurt my neck I started taking 4mg of dilaudid again...I am in a lot of pain. I did call my PCP last night, she recommended that I go to the ER for an x-ray. I will be doing that this morning. I also emailed Dr. B but always hate to bother him especially on the weekends... Is this something you have seen before? I do have a possible EDS diagnosis as well...would this possibly make the fusion not work? Thank you all for any responses. I may not be able to answer as I am going to the ER. I will let you know my outcome though. Darcie in the Sierra Foothills, California.·:*¨¨*:·.
