Guest guest
In Ohio it is permissible to accept a faxed referral. I have also posed the question regarding appropriateness of a physician's signature stamp and that was never answered. (by the Ohio PT/OT/AT Board) We have not had any insurance companies reject either of the above. ______________________________________________________________________
Guest guest
The Texas Practice Act states that referrals may be received by: (1) document (2) verbal order (3) telephone order (4) facsimile (5) other electronic transmission I don't know what state you practice in, so you might consult your practice act for specific rules which apply to you. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Todd Cepica, P.T. Guest guest
I was told by a JCAHO reviewer that faxed copies needed to be followed by originals for the chart. The reason is the thermal paper some fax machines use fades overtime and the prescription disappears. ______________________________________________________________________

We solved it by photo copying the " fax, " much easier than trying to obtain a signature at times. ______________________________________________________________________
