Guest guest
Hi there and welcome! We all understand that feeling of being alone with this problem. This is such a great group! I've decided only really awesome people have this problem. Anyhow, I've never had a drink in my life... nope not one! So, I guess I can't answer your question about it. But I did want to extend a welcome to you! > > Hello all! > Let me start by saying that I'm new here. So hi! But then if i were to hear my primary triggers in this point it causes me to have a surge of emotions that I would normally be able to control. Onsaying that tho, most of the time when I drink a lot of booze, I am not around situations where my 4S would normally be bad, but I was at a party where people where eating chips, and I foundmyself tenses but as I was drinking and trying to not let it effect me and have a good time the discomfort went, I even found my self eating chips to my girlfriends surprise.... . Guest guest
According to my older brother, catnip makes a mildly mind-altering tea. He said it made him feel very cheerful, energized, but at peace with the world, right after his metaphorical whiskers went "SPROING!"He's a Leo. I think that's part of it.= M-F.>>catnip???? Guest guest
I've seen what it does to my parents cats and was just a bit curious. Wonder if they will give me some to steep! Guest guest
It makes cats high yes, but I don’t think we humans have the same receptors as the cats do, well more to the point not on the same level. You will find that some people are effected by catnip through euphoria while for others it does nothing. There is a lot of debate on the herb but best way is to try a tea and see if it relaxes you or makes you feel a little bit better. It can be picked up from any health food shop that sells other herbs but it is better if you pick it right off the tree and bruise the leaves, as this will cause a stronger effect. Guest guest
I looked it up in my herb book and catnip tea was one of the most common teas in Europe before Chinese tea. North American Indians used it for its sedative effect on the nervous system and for colic in infants. It helps normalize blood pressure, relieves pain, calms the nerves, prevents spasms and helps with stress and tension. I'm going to enjoy some tonight before work. Glad you brought it up. Perhaps share with the kitties too.To: Soundsensitivity From: vnoe67@...Date: Sat, 31 Jan 2009 14:44:57 -0800Subject: Re: 4s and alcohol I've seen what it does to my parents cats and was just a bit curious. Guest guest
I don't drink either, so I can't help there. The most I've had of any drink that I was curious about was a tiny taste. For one, fermented drinks taste horrible; even the really nice wine I had a sip of when the voting results came in sucked. For two, I've taken a vow of total sobriety.(Ironically, I'm about 75% Irish. XD)= M-F.>>Not one drink!?? Wow, that is impressive.
