Guest guest
Thank-you Barb! (Hope you're reading this Tony). That is very interesting. I've always been perplexed by my weight gain while eating next to nothing. I know a lot of pwc complain of this. I wonder if the low cholesterol thing holds true for humans as well? That would distinguish most pwc from chickens (thank god there's something! :-), whose cholesterol tends to go up along with the weight gain. Here's another article on the same guy. More recent. http://www.asm.org/news/index.asp?bid=36657 Whether fat is directly linked to viruses or bacteria, this at least shows that weight gain may be due to some kind of immune reaction causing a metabolic slow down. Similarly, antibodies are involved in most hypothyroidism which also causes a metabolic slow down and weight gain. ( " autoimmune " hashimotos - which has been linked to bacterial infections in past studies). It seems that these antibodies are evidence that slowing down and gaining weight is a self defense mechanism brought on by some kind of infection, not laziness. penny --- Barb Peck <egroups1bp@...> wrote: > Interesting: > > http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/133264p-118852c.html > > > > >
Guest guest
Interesting: http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/133264p-118852c.html So many of us rapidly gained weight when we got sick, and a few of us rapidly lost weight. One has to think this is apart from changes in diet. In the past month I have had a very confusing and rather bizarre change. I would be interested in any ideas of what is going on. I have been doing very well, taking Zithromax and Recuperation and beginning to be able to walk and exercise. I went to an ENT and had him look at my vocal cords to rule out having nodules causing a vibration so that I can no longer sing. He sprayed my throat with an anesthetic and declared the vocal cords were okay. Within one day I felt achy and fluish. Four days later I had an upper tooth filling replaced. The next day in addition to the existing fluish symptoms I developed rather severe vertigo. This vertigo has persisted now for 4 weeks. I started a new diet 3 weeks ago based on low calorie, high volume diet and lost 7 pounds – this is unheard of for me in three weeks on any diet. The third week I developed a servere case of thrush plus some red rash as well. I got one diflucan. In the next 2 days I felt the thrush was clearing and the vertigo was better. By day 3 I had to go back to the doctor as I felt much worse and was running a 2 degree fever. He prescribed 3 more diflucans and clotrimazole troaches. But what is really going on? I haven’t had thrush in 10 years. Do you think the candida was in my inner ear or throat and the exam triggered it? Or did the increase in carbs in the diet feed it? However, the vertigo preceded the change in diet. Sorry this is so complicated, but any thoughts would be welcome. Also, HOW THE HECK DO YOU TREAT THE CANDIDA? a
Guest guest
Here's some more fuel for the fire of infection (or pathogens) at the root of un determined symptoms. This is from one of my horse lists specifically metabolically challenged horses (Insulin resistant, hypothyroid, and carb intolerant). Guest guest
Penny I, like the article, see the type of fat and the places it deposits as something not to be taken lightely. Remember I have ben told I had a fatty liver in my scans..I believe the fatty liver and an infected liver are clsoely linked.I also gravitate towards needing to be as close as possable to the height/ weight scales because it's optimal for your cardio-vascular system and getting the most out of therapies IMO. I was also fortunate to loose a lot of weight early in the disease due to eating habits(candida diet/nystatin) staying off the soda's and playing sport heaps that gave me a euphoria of extremely good health. At this point the knowledge of the festering oral infection would have paid huge dividends. > > > Interesting: > > > > > http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/133264p-118852c.html > > > > > > > > > > >

Guest guest
On a scientific note your inflammation starts in your mouth even though you avoid this tyoe of dicussion- and IMO disseminates to high blood flow regions-genitalia (endometreosis anyone)-So the fact that you had something flaring and are looking for the outocmes of long term infection/inflammatio.... nodules on your vocal cords. It would be wise for you to get more to grips with the types of organisms that rot your teeth/are found in cysts and abscesses/ Also you just cleaned up a tooth and the toxins are attacking your brain. something we had a major pow wow with wallace about. Also the numbing needles introduce more infection around the tooth/bone which also is more mayhem IMO. But stop, there's more- we'll go with the explanation everyoone wants to gravitate towards- Hi a do you have amalgams - I think your being mercury poisoned to your brainiac. If I could afford it I would replace all my amalgams with the guy that wears the space suit and charges fifty five thousand dollars. Then you should follow up with goat weed/ sheeps milk and augment it with glutathione suppositories to bind the mercury. > > > > > > Interesting: > > http://www.nydailyn > <http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/133264p-118852c.html> > ews.com/front/story/133264p-118852c.html > > So many of us rapidly gained weight when we got sick, and a few of us > rapidly lost weight. Guest guest
The playing sport aspect-Just before full blown fibromyalgia I was playing over 35's soccer and had a few episodes of getting my teeth right at all costs(basically kept attacking the dentist for as many repairs as possable). The first phase of ilness was a classic candida syndrome, right in the ball park word for word and recovery was exactly as it read IN THE CANDIDA BOOKS(fluke the misses had the candida book)... if not in my case better health than ever when the formula was adhered to... throw in a massive weight loss(25lbs) and lots of sport. But after thinking I could resume normal activity and stopped the meds.... went right back and developed full blown fibromyalgia- my head couldn't touch the pillow due to the pain- I could not drive across the park for a year let alone walk . I now play outdoor soccer again at 48 unfortunately against 17 and 20 year olds that often are a bitch to keep up with. > > Tony, > > Would you expand on the " playing sport " aspect of your illness? Guest guest
a You do a good job convincing yourself there's a viral ear infection going round(name the virus and get it swabbed) -the throat- shrunken tonsils.... you must have thyroid problems- having voice box problems is like par for the course.. I'm sure if anyone wanted to scream loudly it would be painfull if you have cfs.plus the vibration -buzzing is often highly associated with these infections, most feel this buzz in the central nervous system- An old friend a recent convert to lyme logic also complains of vibrating buzzing of her infection.but hers is mainly in the spine of the neck region if I can recall correctly. I do believe that when you poke you get real surprises with these ilnesses and nothing I repeat nothing is curled up in any corners IMO... a I suppose become a better detective if you have thrush make sure that's what it is, it could be bacterial..I find pseudonomas and candida feel identical.Plus the throat is so huge in bacterial numbers your therapies are capable of promoting huge growths in this region- regardless wether your therapy is killing or not, your undermedicated in this particular region. > > > > > > > > > > > > Interesting: > > > > http://www.nydailyn > > <http://www.nydailyn > <http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/133264p-118852c.html> > ews.com/front/story/133264p-118852c.html> > > ews.com/front/story/133264p-118852c.html > > > > So many of us rapidly gained weight when we got sick, and a few of > us > > rapidly lost weight. Guest guest
a. Tremor in voice(=Vibration) and Dentist(trauma to the sensory system). This can also be the controll system playing tricks. It's doing that for me. Eyes, hearing, voice, balans, sensory input it's all connected and depend on your brain information handlig capacity(pain is part of that). When I use codein I'm filtering(attenuate) this system. A trained logoped can hear this. I can be tested by varing the delay. This may also explain the vertigo. There are an audio feedback when you speech/sing your brain listens and adjust the voice You get feedback from ears and the bone. /Per a Carnes wrote: > Interesting: > > http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/133264p-118852c.html > <http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/133264p-118852c.html> > > So many of us rapidly gained weight when we got sick, and a few of us > rapidly lost weight. Guest guest
a I'm not trying to diagnose you at all.. you asked for theories and it didn't matter where they come from.I had a few posts earlier tried to string the infection in the throat, head and neck into the big picture of our ilness and you were adamant that you are a square hole that doesn't fit this round peg.You also wanted similar to pubmed articles otherwise I was just blabbin out my rear. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Interesting: > > > > > > http://www.nydailyn > > > <http://www.nydailyn > > <http://www.nydailyn > <http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/133264p-118852c.html> > ews.com/front/story/133264p-118852c.html> > > ews.com/front/story/133264p-118852c.html> > > > ews.com/front/story/133264p-118852c.html > > > > > > So many of us rapidly gained weight when we got sick, and a few > of > > us > > > rapidly lost weight. Guest guest
Interesting article, thanks. I was a sudden weight-gainer when I got sik, something like 40 lbs in 3 months. But, that was decades ago and I have been 50+ lbs overweight ever since, yo-yoing up and down my entire adult life. Last month I was taking an anti-viral and dropped 25 lbs. This month I am off the anti-viral and the weight is back. I have never had an anti-viral before in my life, this was the first time. I loved the stuff. I am betting the zithro is what causes the candida in you and the diflucan helps fight that - I always get a yeast/fungal infection after doxy or any antibiotic and so my nurse practitioner has prescribed for me an ongoing refillable for 100mg diflucan that I take when I stop any antibiotic. Seems to do the trick. Sometimes one will do it, but usually it takes two or three days of diflucan depending on what antibiotic I was taking and for how long. Short course of doxy (1 week) and one diflucan after. Longer course, takes more diflucan after. I am testing now that the Lyme is active. Tomorrow I start Zithromax and when I am done with it, I will take a diflucan. How long have you been taking Zithro and how often? This is a new one for me, usually, I take doxy or amoxicillin. Thanks, *S* > > > > > > Interesting: > > http://www.nydailyn > <http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/133264p-118852c.html> > ews.com/front/story/133264p-118852c.html > > So many of us rapidly gained weight when we got sick, and a few of us > rapidly lost weight.
