Guest guest
Hi. I have included a link below to a product that has DMSO in it. It's called Soothanol X2. The ingredients are: Olive Oil, Calendula Oil, Arnica Oil, St 's Wort Oil, Cayenne, Ginger, Natural Menthol Crystals, Wintergreen, DMSO, Limonene Oil, Emu Oil, and MSM. It is used for: Backaches...Sore muscles...Sprains and strains...Arthritis of any kind... and occasional bumps, bruises, sprains and strains. I thought this was interesting and sort of relevant to the essential oils discussions. Hope the link works. http://www.agora-inc.com/reports/650SPDP/W650E710/home.cfm Diane
Guest guest
Looks like it would be a very effective product from the list of ingredients. The only draw back I can see is that some people are sensitive to Limonene Oil. It is also used as an insecticide probably in much greater concentration, but since he does not give the concentration of each component I can't say for sure. I think more than three or four ingredients, generally speaking is sort of an overkill formula when it comes to general principles of formulating combination remedies. I don't count the Olive Oil as that is the " carrier " oil. One advantage of limiting a formula is that you are not diluting as much each ingredient to work all of those in there. I understand why each component is in there, what each is doing but several of them are redundant pharmcologically speaking. It's just my take, like I said probably works really well, but I would have chosen to keep it to a lower number and put out several formulas. That way if someone is sensitive to Limonene for example they might be able to use a different formula. And if there is a reaction it also makes it easier to figure out which ingredient in the culprit. Guess I think too much like a pharmacologist and anticipate the untoward reaction. I also don't like diluting something just to be able to add six or seven ingredients, unless it really works well in low concentration, which DMSO does, but in this case it seem to be in there more as the transport agent since it is pretty far down on the list. Ingredients are listed in order of concentration. Some like Emu Oil don't require much to be effective, others like the MSM probably would be better off at a higher concentration. Just some thoughts off the top of my head.<smile> No offense intended Jon, if you are reading. Garnet > > Hi.
