Guest guest
, I am a CI , with my students we always spend time discussing the impact of managed care, contracts with HMO's, and unforutnatley (for students) attending the various quality councils, UR meetings, and discussion, and completion of the dreaded MDS, fiscal responsibility etc. What I find is all the students are amazed at: the amount of paperwork required, the limited PT visits authorized, short length of stay, etc. that PT's face in the real working world. It is difficult to see their disappointment but encouraging that they do not feel totally frustrated remaining excited about their profession. I agree that PT's can not escape the " administration " no matter what level of participation and we need to expose students to the " not so fun " part of our profession. The challenge and the reward is our personal satisfaction in improving our patients lives. Guest guest
, I teach the Health Services Delivery course at U. of Co. in Denver-this is my third year. Would love to talk to you about how I teach it. Do you want to do it by phone? E-mail would be cumbersome to really " discuss " it- JOY ---- Read this list on the Web at http://www.FindMail.com/list/ptmanager/ To unsubscribe, email to ptmanager-unsubscribe@...
