Hi Aileen

I have some contacts in Australia who should know what is the best

way to go about obtaining a referral for a diagnosis.

Is your friend based in Sydney? I might be able to get you city

specific info/recommendation if it is Sydney - will wait for you to

confirm before I pass the message on.

Aileen it was clear when I re-read your message that your friend is

based in Sydney so I have got in touch with my Oz contacts asking if

anyone can recommend what steps to take, which professional/s to see

plus if there are parents in Sydney who have been through the

diagnostic process (or the 'just checking it out' process) who would

pass their contact details on to your friend.

Contact with local parents would be a good place to start imho (it's

where most of my best advice has come from!) - will get back to you

as soon as I hear anything.

her concerns checked and/or getting a diagnosis.

and just now I have had another person (Cheryl) contact me offering

to put you in touch with her friend who is a Paediatrician involved

in autism diagnosis in Sydney so you can pass details on.

Cheryl says to contact her at this address:
