Guest guest
Hi !! I was breifing through the posts and couldnt believe what I was reading in yours about you mentioning the constipation and seizures!!! Our son who had a lot of gi damage from vaccine reaction has many of the the problems with movements. His stool has to be so so loose to even go now!! I believe he has muscle/nerve damage(this could be some, not all, of the withholding thoughts/issues). Anyways, I have been telling his docs that I KNOW his gi is triggering his seizures, this would even be gas triggering them lately. Most of the docs just kinda look at me and or say OH, they just dont say much about. My son usually only had about 4-6 grands per year, usually virally induced from illness, he was outgrowing them actually(I believe he was actually healing from the viral/vac issue). Then his last round of shots did it for him. Anyways it took several months to get anywhere with him being able to have some sort of somewhat regular movements(with miralax). The odd thing is, is that once his bowels started working better, any big movement(his stool tends to sit in the intestines to long and therefor trys to move a lot at once) would trigger seizures and now gas is doing this. We went to nuero, thinking he would do the same as all the other docs and not see the connection. I was happy to find that he agreed(guess Im not loco!. His said, it is not quote, in the books (seizures/gi triggered), but he has had other families say that there childrens seizures are being triggered by the gi. He said we need to try and get his bowels running more smoothly(this has been very difficult to do) that it is to stressfull on him and this could be triggering the seizures. There is also a nerve called the vagus nerve that runs from the base of the brain down to the end of the intestinal track, I have wondered if this nerve is being affected and triggering the seizures! There are those from what I have read that get some sort of vagus nerve stimulator/block(not sure what??) to help control the seizures. Anyways, sorry this turned out so long, but you do have something there in suspecting that your childs gi might have been triggering the seizures. If you get any info on this, let me know!! Although the nuero said it isnt quote in the books, there is plenty of info on the net about this connection. It is mentioned also that it used to be more commen thought of this connection a long time ago and just kinda got forgot about! And now the mainstream medical is starting to look at it again. I hope your son is doing well! Jennie<>< > > > > > I am so glad to have found this group...my son Owen is 14 months > old > > and has had pooping problems his entire life.
