Guest guest
has anyone using nature calm and probiotics also been on anti seizure meds? i am wondering about interactions w/meds or interferring with med absorption. i woud like to try the probiotics and nature calm and will start giving 4 hrs after morning meds just to be safe. thanks for all the useful info. karenmerrywbee wrote: Hi-- OK, then that is more reassuring that he's only been doing the daily suppositories for three days! Yes, this type of thing--using the suppositories like this, daily, can really help to clean out any old stool that has the potential to become an impaction in the future. Keep us posted on his progress! There may also be something dietary wise that brings about constipation for him-- older posts on this board from other members talk about dairy and gluten, and so you may want to keep a food diary to see if there is any connection for him. His health is great too as of late. He was diagnosed with infantile spasms (a very severe and rare form of epilespy that causes profound developmental delays) about 9 months ago. The prognosis was grim but he has beat all odds thus far. Walking and beginning to talk and developmentally on track in every way. He has been med free for almost 2 months and is seizure free thus far (kow). Maybe it's all related...the constipation and the seizures...who knows??> Anyway, thanks again, you are a wealth of information.> >
Guest guest
I bought the Natural Calm and it is very tart like liquid mag citrate. THere were two types at store: one lemon/raspberry and the one I bought which had no flavor labeled/added. However, when I tried it at home it is very tart. Does anyone have good ideas to mask tartness? I used very little water b/c she won't drink alot. She did take it but I can see it becoming an issue as with the mag citrate liquid. I am starting at 1/2 tsp. midday (approx.100mg). Is this what others are using? Also I picked up Children's Primadophilus from Natures Way. She is 45 lbs and I am starting off at 1tsp.(=55mg of probiotic blend). THis tasted sweet and she took it no problem. thanks kcventi wrote: has anyone using nature calm and probiotics also been on anti seizure meds? i am wondering about interactions w/meds or interferring with med absorption. i woud like to try the probiotics and nature calm and will start giving 4 hrs after morning meds just to be safe. thanks for all the useful info. karenmerrywbee <merrywbee> wrote: Hi-- OK, then that is more reassuring that he's only been doing the daily suppositories for three days! Guest guest
What types of juice will she drink? You could try mixing it in her regular juice, like orange juice, or apple juice. You can also try adding in a natural sugar like stevia, or actually xylitol, another natural one, is sort of known for loosening up stools anyway. You can buy both in a powder/granulated form.
