Guest guest
Hi all I've been reading this group avidly for a few months now and whilst it's a huge relief to find kindred spirits, today I took a huge step and made an appointment to see my GP about my sensitivity to noise. There are a few other (related) issues which I have been putting off getting advice about, so hopefully I can get it all done in a oner! I grew up in the country - peace and quiet all day, every day - and from the time I left home to the present I have become less and less tolerant of noise; from bass music and footballs bouncing, to knuckle-cracking and my personal hell...gum-chewing with an open mouth. Having said all of this - that I accept responsibility for how I feel - I do wish people would be a bit more aware of the noise they generate. I've tried to hard to confront the gum-chewer but at the last minute I chicken out and move into a private office. This makes me feel bad because I don't get to interact with others, which is so important for me for other reasons! Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say thank you xx
