Guest guest
Happy New Year everyone. We spent the night with close friends, who are on leave from overseas posting. It was very special to be with them as we don't get to see them very often. We stayed overnight at their holiday house, and enjoyed a lovely warm summers day on the beach for new year. As usual, Hannah was still awake late at night, and her father had put her to bed. But I had this overwhelming need to have her with me at the party and especially at midnight, which was strange as I normally don't make much fuss about new years eve. But this one was special of course, and I wanted us to celebrate as a family. Hannah loves crowds, conversation and music, and there was plenty of all of those so she had a great time. Only trouble was that she kept up the party atmosphere till after 3am, " talking " to herself and laughing and, as our family was bunked all in one room together, I hardly slept till about 4am. Never mind, it was worth it. I think Hannah really responds to the atmosphere around her and the party must have hyped her up. Now I am trying to plan what to do for my 40th on Jan 20. Can't motivate myself for more partying right now (funny about that). Hannah's birthday is 26th Jan so I guess we'll share a " do " , if I can be bothered arranging anything.
