My next trick is IV as well. He may also want to put me to sleep and do a thorough cleaning. Not really surgery as I have had surgery 4xs and the sinuses are open in fact barely have an sinuses anymore. Also Doc recommended ponaris rinse which I have ordered on line. It is supposed to be soothing and to clear mucous. Also do you know about Breath EASE which is a sinus rinse with Xylitol. Xylitol is supposed to be anti bacterial as well. I think we have talked about xylitol before. I am trying to stay sugar free because of fungus secondary to antibiotic and find I have neuro symptoms with every other sugar subsitute. Guest guest
Yeah, definitely it's the deep down stuff that I'm worried about. However, if I can actually get my sinuses cleared up, it would be a big step forward. So Tony, have you ever tried iodine against pseudomonas? Does it kill it? pennydumbaussie2000 <dumbaussie2000@...> wrote: Thank god betadine acts differently against bacteria than most antimicrobials and seems to smother them to death so doesn't build resistance- unfortunately it's good for the surface the deep down stuff is another story.tony>> So just talked to ENT who did my surgery 3 weeks ago. Guest guest
Hi Marie, Yes, I have Breathe Ease and added it to the betadine rinse this evening which totally took the burning away. I know at least one who suffered through it, but it did kill her pseudomonas. Somebody I know uses bleach! Guest guest
Hi Penny, I am so glad that adding the Breath Ease took away the burning. I am going to ask my doctor who I see next week if he will perscribe it for me. It killed your friends psuedomonas. Wow. That is good news. I have felt for a long time if I could get rid of the infection in my sinuses it would be a huge step in getting better. Penny, I thought it was you who used bleach in the sinuses. I wonder who it was then. I would never be able to do that as even cleaning with bleach makes me extremely ill. Well see if the new tests turn up anything. Tony, you nailed this pseudomonas over 2 years ago. Apparently, I've cleared the staph and strep and p. acnes with the drugs I've been on, but I cannot shake the pseudomonas. Hard to believe this one bug is capable of so much illness. Then again who knows what's still in my jaw? Can't wait to get that biopsied again, IF I can find someone to do it now that Dr. Odell is dead. But at least I'm working on getting these sinuses cleared. The other thing I have to say is that this Betadine Rinse burned like hell! God, it's painful. I could feel it burning throughout my entire head. Places I didn't know existed were on fire. So at least I know the betadine's getting in there. I immediately felt a difference in my head after the rinse. Like an opening up, especially on the right side. But I couldn't do the full litre. I got perhaps 3 oz in before giving up. I'm adding some salt to their recipe, see if that eases the burning next time. I also wanted to say I think your betadine baths are a really good idea, especially after reading that website yesterday talking about how easily skin bacteria can do serious damaging once they have access to your insides. penny Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
Unfortunately, my sinuses feel "sloshy" and I feel more like I'm getting an infection than getting rid of it. Will give it more time, but I'm basically off abx here, and I'm not so sure that's a good idea. I just don't know what my other bugs are susceptible to. pennyMarie Mayberry <msmabrry@...> wrote: So Betadine is iodine. I should have known that. What dilution would you use? I am going to ask my doctor who I see next week if he will perscribe it for me. It killed your friends psuedomonas. Wow. That is good news. I know at least one who suffered through it, but it did kill her pseudomonas. Somebody I know uses bleach! The bad news...it's resistant to every single oral abx they tried. And they tried everything I've ever heard of. So she's recommending betadine rinses 2 x daily. Otherwise, it's i.v. drugs in hospital. (she said that as if I think it's a bad thing, which I don't when it comes to abx treatment). But I'll give the betadine a try first even though all my research has always said you can't kill it without at least 2 abx. And hopefully in the future I'll have some credibility with her when I say I feel like I'm getting infected, even if things "look" fine. Still no fungal growth. Guest guest
I think that may be 1/2 tsp of breathe ease, not a full tsp. Not sure. I used a tsp to 16 oz. last time and it was pretty close to burning. Afterwards, I could really smell salt for quite a while. However, my sinuses also felt drier, so maybe as much salt as you can tolerate is a good idea? the iodine is supposed to do the killing, but salt's very good too. pennyPenny Houle <pennyhoule@...> wrote: 2 tsp (10cc) per 1 liter of water was doc's order. 1 tsp per 16 oz is close enough.
