Guest guest
Someone told me, during the course of a discussion about milk consumption, that she read the Masai are the only Africans who have ostoeporosis. The references to the Masai in NT address cholesterol and teeth, but not bones. I find it odd they would have perfect teeth and dental structure but imperfect bones. I've asked for a reference as to where she read that, so I'll pursue it when I hear back. Anyone here have info in this direction? Guest guest
Dear Aubin, When Price studied the Masai, he found no evidence of bone problems; neither did Mann. However traditional peoples that have subsisted largely on animal foods, such as the Eskimo or the Masai, are very vulnerable to osteoporosis when they make even small changes in their traditional diets.
