Bleu,

>I am not against testing if done right, with a serious and experienced lab, technician, however, these are few and >far between. If you want as much I suggest everyone consider ONLY PRIVATE labs.

Have you found such a private lab (I mean one you would consider using for serious testing) in France? In the UK? in Europe?

You can backchannel me if you like. I have one very sympathetic Infectious Disease hospital doctor (prof of Infectious diseases) here in Paris, but I have given up on testing, and he seems to have given up on it as well. I know you're in the South but anywhere half decent for testing would be good. You know the Hôpital de la Timone in Marseille does a lot of research on Rickettsiae, Bartonella for eg, but they are very sarcastic of us poor sods with chronic on-going poorly identified infectious processes and will only test the samples they choose to test so that they can publish and publish and publish...about how these pathogens are extremely hard to find, and how they cause persisting illness...that they probably don't believe in as when people say they are sick and get better with abx they just don't believe them and refuse to test them.

It's really ironic that when you read their papers, you know they realise that for many of these pathogens, serologies are grossly inadequate, yet that's all they'll do for "patients" and send them away if the serologies are neg. They keep their PCRs for the subjects they use for their publications.

Any useful info re testing in France/Europe welcome

Nelly (in Paris)

There is NO WHERE in the UK one can get a PCR as far as I know currently.I highly recommend a lab called parascope in Leeds in the UK. these guys you can chat to on the phone and do private stool analysis, Im not sure what else they do, but are a spin of from leeds hospital I think, but they are really good. in the UK might have some other resources, Im not sure. But in the UK I would also recommend these two labs,One is called individual well-being diagnostic labs, and the other called biolab, both in london.http://www.iwdl.net/home.htmhttp://www.biolab.co.uk/As far as testing for bacteria and fungi go, you know as well as anyone that its a non perfect science. If I knew better when I still had me dosh I would have gone straight to IGENEX and given them a couple of grand happily. As you know, these days I go by gut feeling and wild trial and error. Its not the best solution by far, but its the best I have got.On 11 May 2006, at 20:28, Nelly Pointis wrote:

If you want your pet tested it's not a problem , Perhaps that's the way to go pretend your an animal!! I phoned this Surrey lab a few years back , they said they could test for any pathogen I liked at £17 a pop ..That is until they realised it was me a human who wanted the tests ..Cant do that , not licensed to treat people , Our hospitals still maintain that PCR testing is a "research tool" who are they kidding

How can we get around this? We need a vet with privileges at an outside lab or something. Why can't we have access to the simple tests that we need? It's driving me absolutely nuts!!!! penny Jaep <Jaep@...> wrote: If you want your pet tested it's not a problem , Perhaps that's the way to go pretend your an animal!!
