Hi Tracie

We (my geneticist and I) initially sent the MRI to Dr. Dobyns for

review since we're thousands of miles away in California. He didn't

have time to open the package. We ended up, by luck and chance,

going to the conference in Dallas. He brought them with him there

(with some prodding from us) and had them for our visit.

I am not knocking him - I understand he is VERY busy with his

research. That's what we want him to be - VERY BUSY FINDING THE

ANSWERS. You just need to be patient and persistent. It will be

worth it in the long run. And, who knows it might not be long.

If I were you, I'd send copies of the MRI films and reports to him

requesting that he review it and give you his impression and if you

live close enough, request an appointment. That's all you can do.

Email and voice mail for a follow-up reminder are good too. If

's condition is " interesting " to him from a research standpoint,

he may answer you sooner rather than later.

Good Luck, (mom to shannon)
