I was sweating, breathing hard and everything I knew about myself up to that point, said I was doing my level best to work out. Sonja shows up in October and blows me away with her focus and intensity. I automatically found myself easily increasing my intensity without straining. I was amazed. I had probably been cruising along at a 4 or 5, my heart was pumping and I was dripping sweat, but I still had so much more to give without killing myself! >> I agree after a good strong Basic work-out, I thought I worked full intensity but have found myself working harder and harder than I ever thought possible with Advanced work-outs. At my age (50) and being overweight with arthritis I thought I was inviting trouble pushing further but found I was selling myself short and have been seeing myself do more and more double times with less and less breathlessness and exhaustion but this does not happen overnight. It is a steady improvement in fitness. I now do even the Basics with alot more intensity than before with less working it outs inbetween the moves Barb who figures if I could do it, anyone can

LV, I meant to respond to this earlier, but I remember thinking the same thing when I went to the tapings. I thought I had been working out intensely to the tapes, but being there in the studio with , took me to a whole new level. Someone that I met at the tapings, (littleJen from the tae-bo boards) gave me a great suggestion when I was e-mailing her before the tapings (she had been to the June tapings), she said she tries to workout like is riht there in the room with her. I didn't get it until I went to the tapings, but now I totally understand what she was saying. I really do try to pretend is standing right there next to me. When he is having someone on the tapes punch his hands, I pretend he's talking to me. That he's standing in front of me and I'm punching his hands. It really does take the workout to a whole new level. Another thing that has helped with my intensity is to really focus on the moves, especially the knee raises. I really pretend that someone is trying to hit me and I am blocking them with my hands and bringing my knee up into their head. I know this is pretty mean of me (ha ha), but it has really helped with my intensity and I can really feel my abs strengthening, like you're supposed to. I think alot of times, we think we're working out as hard as we can, but we are really just going through the motions. Since I have been paying attention to my intensity, I can really tell when I'm slacking off and going through the motions. I can totally see the difference. And if you are just going through the moves, not putting anything into it, you definitely won't see the same results! who can't wait for the next tae-bo tapings or the Canton opening
