Guest guest
Hi Penny, I don't know how your sinuses ended up in such bad shape. My thoughts + prayers are with you for a speedy recovery. I have some good news on my end. Today, is the first day since last AUGUST I woke up and both of my ears unclogged and have remained unclogged so far all day. I'm being treated for a fungal infection in my sinuses that I believe is due to inhaling mold for 7 years in an office building where I work. Guest guest
Yeah, I wonder too. I had numerous upper respiratory infections, bronchitis and pneumonia as a child. This could have caused the narrowing of the sinus openings, trapping all that mucous, creating chronic infection and inflammation of the sinuses, eventually creating a lot of other ailments (see pub med on sphenoid sinus's involvement in endocrine and other ailments). I also know that a lot of my health problems really accelerated 20 years ago after undergoing poor dental treatment (probably unecessary). The dentist I had was a hack and couldn't get 3 crowns right. Took him two years before I could bite down without pain. And coincidentally, when I had my wisdom teeth removed a few years ago, the area where the surgeon had to remove the largest chunk of bone from my jaw due to necrosis and infection was the exact area where the old dentist had given me numerous shots. During my two years with that dentist, my jaw hurt so badly I could barely open my mouth for treatment. And now I have a big hole where my jaw bone should be. The only organism showing up on my recent lab work is p. acnes. Despite all the abx I've been on for the last year, it's doing fine. I'm guessing I've cleared a good portion of the staph and strep, but that I've I've also got actinomyces, a bug that wormholes through your sinuses and jaws but is very difficult to culture. My ENT was surprised yesterday when she said my left side is where the CT scans show the least infection, and yet, when she went in for her follow up, it's where I had the most new gunk needing to be cleaned out post surgery. The left side has always been the most difficult to clean up, even though the right side looks like the more affected area. I think this is because I have problem teeth on that side, and the infection has wormholed its way back and forth between jaw and sinuses. I doubt my sinuses will be truly okay until I identify all the teeth and have them removed and can somehow get the infection out of there entirely. I truly believe that dentists are a big factor contributing to chronic illness. If you've got any root canals, or old wisdom teeth sockets, or any indication of any kind of dental infection, you should be aware that this can cause mega health problems, because your dentist is oblivious and will deny it, and no one else wants to deal with that part of the body. Total medical stupidity and malpractice. thanks for your good wishes. Congrats on the unplugging of your ears. I hope you continue to improve. penny > > > > > > Penny: > > > > > > Did you just have that new sinus surgery? > > > It's sort of like angioplasy- only in the sinus > > right? > > > > > > Are you draining infections now? > > > > > > Barb > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > _____________________________________________________________________ ___ > > > _____________________________________________________________________ ___ > > > > Message: 3 > > Date: Mon, 24 Apr 2006 13:07:05 -0400 (GMT-04:00) > > From: Tolson <etolson@...> > > Subject: Bone Biopsy Results > > > > > > > > [This message is not in displayable format] > > > > > > > > > _____________________________________________________________________ ___ > > > _____________________________________________________________________ ___ > > > === message truncated === > > > __________________________________________________ >
