Guest guest
Hi: Wasn't it at the Senate Meeting on Education in August that Attorney Borreca stated before our good Senators, F. Shapiro, D. and TEA Reps, that parents are allowed to attend NELI conferences? I think I remember something about that. Maybe we should all register just to get the rejection letters; it could be good ammunition to forward to our Senators. It won't cost anything to register and maybe someone could slip through the cracks and be able to attend. They will bill for payment after the meeting, only if you do attend. Sincerely, Vivian Subject: Re:NELI Houston Conf. 2/27/09 on Behavior and DisciplineTo: Texas-Autism-Advocacy Date: Thursday, January 1, 2009, 11:14 AM These conferences are put on by the law firm of Buechler--who represents many school districts in special education. If anyone is successful in going to this conference (they don't allow parents) and takes notes, I hope they share it with the group. It helps us know what kind of legal arguments and tactics we'll be seeing in ARD meetings in the future. Guest guest
Hi again I couldn't bring myself to listen to the whole Senate Committee on Education again so this is why I posted that I thought it was Borreca who stated parents could attend law conferences with a question (?) mark. I should have been a little more general instead of specific in my post. I stand corrected from another list. It was Nona Mathews regarding the WABSA trainings who stated these meeting are open, when they are not. Anyway, it will still be a good idea to register for NELI conference and collect those rejection letters. http://www.nelilaw.net/workshops.php Sincerely, Vivian From: Feller Heiligenthal <studentslawyer@ sbcglobal. net>Subject: [Texas-Autism- Advocacy] Re:NELI Houston Conf. 2/27/09 on Behavior and DisciplineTo: Texas-Autism- Advocacy@ yahoogroups. comDate: Thursday, January 1, 2009, 11:14 AM These conferences are put on by the law firm of Buechler--who represents many school districts in special education.
