Cimetidine for allergy after sinus surgery?

You think the cimetidine could clear a massive allergic response I'm

having after my sinus surgery on Tuesday? I need to do something

because this is killing me.

My guess is that whatever dead or drying matter is left in my

sinuses is inducing a massive histamine response. This is making me

incredibly miserable. Like the worst allergy attack in the world, on

top of swollen sinuses.

The one amazing thing I have to report after surgery is that my neck

and shoulder pain have vanished. The neck pain has been incessant

for decades, radiating through my shoulders and down my right arm in

more recent months. This has miraculously disappeared. I haven't

needed benicar or ultracet for the pain, which I usually live on.

The sphenoid sinuses are way far back in the head near the brain and

are often cited as a cause of rear headaches. I'm thinking in my

case they've been causing neck and shoulder tension and pain. Maybe

other head stuff as well. Pretty amazing instantaneous relief.

Tony's always said, and I've always felt, that this illness has been

traveling from my head downward. Sinuses, jaw, headaches, thyroid,

shoulders, etc., etc. I think other people have different pathways,

but this certainly seems to be the case for me. I can't believe that

this neck and shoulder pain is gone. Other than feeling very tender

to the touch, like bruised everywhere, my neck, shoulder and arm

feel normal.

In any case, I think I'm going to try the cimetidine for this crazy

allergic response. I'm desperate.

Penny , I hope I'm not tempting fate here but the cimetidine continues to

work like a dream ..It's safe cheap ..a shot for nothing as they say ..I

would certainly try it ..my money is still on the shift from an allergic

response. Looks like without the h2 stimulus the IS is re-set to normal

I've upped the dose to 1200mg per day with no digestive problems ..good luck

...
