Guest guest
I'll give an update on how we are doing with Elora...things are still moving through, but periodically I do need to give her a little extra kirkman's powdered magnesium citrate along with MORE liquid. I also think that those juice with fiber boxes are doing more good than I had thought previously. But they are expensive! So I searched online for the same type of fiber that they use in those juice boxes, and it is acacia gum. So then I found this: http://www.helpforibs.com/shop/suplmts/acacia.asp So I have ordered the smallest size and will give it a go with Elora to see if this particular type of fiber is what her body responds the best to. I know on the days when I have her drink the juice with fiber box, then I can count on her to " go " whereas on the days that she hasn't drank one, it is iffy. Also, I am looking more at the thiamin (b1 vitamin) post that (I think it was you) had posted--it is in our Files section under Constipation--What is Working. It made me think back to when I had used the thiamin cream on Elora and it did make her stools looser, and you wrote about it being needed for carb digestion and that is very much Elora... a carb eater. So maybe she is not getting enough b1 in her diet to help her with everything, and as you wrote, constipation is one of the early side effects of not having enough b1 OR not utilizing the b1 that you are getting, i.e. not utilizing it well. So I may end up ordering some thiamin cream to use with her in addition to the range of b vitamins she gets through her multi. W
