I'd be glad to send you mine.........I wish you would help us in this fight about the extended gut................it's never alright if it's one child, but yes, this is what I'm talking about...........the same side affects, they are all expiereincing, the bloated gut, after the miralax, they blame on the child, not the miralax.................See, they can say this because the are constipated and they can blame it on the constipation...............I think we should show pictures, without the face..........like Wakefield showed in his studies................that there was something medically wrong with each child........jhud2 wrote: Her belly is so big she can't even wear normal pants. Our son only wears elastic pants also. One day, 2 sizes bigger next day back to smaller etc. We found that when our son just couldnt seem to stop the bloating no matter what, even with supplementing and movements, we resort to the liquid mag citrate in gram form. Isnt fun or easy to get in but it really works on the non stop bloating. We typically only need to do when he has been on antibiotics(this seems to cause the non stop bloating/problems) and just seems to be not much that well quite get him back to somewhat good. Has she ever had a complete cleanout? It almost sounds possible that she has never really had a complete movement? Jennie wrote: Her belly is so big she can't even wear normal pants. have you guys tried nux vomica for the bloating/distended belly? it's a homeopathic remedy (borion, 30 c) that helps with full bellies. when my son (and me from overeating - holidays and such) has a distended belly, we give him this and he passes gas all day and night. he loves it, since he's such a guy!! :) usually in a few hours, he's feeling better. i get them at our co-op for around $7 per vile, 5 pellets every 15 minutes til feeling better (3 dose limit). the one vile has lasted about a year.

Yes, he was! Just 3rd day miralax free!!:) Bloating is caused I believe from any form of intestinal distress. The miralax did cause this also(bloating). His severe bloating started the night of his vac reaction(gi damage)! The bloating has lessoned greatly with better running gi. Still gets, just not as often or as long!! Someone on the low oxalates list recommended glutamine for distended bellies. But I haven't tried it...we have been thinking about it because my DD also has this problem...she often looks pregnant and won't wear pants at all, only dresses, thank you...though oddly enough, for her, the only dresses rule started when the distension cleared up briefly. Suddenly she was afraid all her pants would fall down. Bonnie

Hi group,

Abby has been off miralax for about 3 months, after being on it for 7 years.

I think the damage that was done to her may be permanent. I thought she

would be functioning better, but motor-wise things are the same and her

belly remains distended. The only time I see it somewhat flat or flatter is when

she has an enema which I only do as needed, maybe twice a month.

I'm wondering if this is from inflammation and colitis or if she is just not getting cleaned

out enough. She is also like me that when she eats a meal she gets bloated.

I'm also wondering if any of you juice? With a power juicer, I mean? Am thinking

Thanks Bonnie, will look into glutamine. Yeah, Abby looks abnormal most of the time, and she goes around

rubbing her belly like she is constantly having stomach pain. Today I massaged her stomach and gave her

an enema and she got a little relief but still she's distended. Does anyone know about colon cleanse and if

that is safe for our kids???

TIA,

Kathy
