Thanks for the info...we are in western WI...no good docs around here at all! :( I'll look into the supplements you suggested and see what I can find.

For my son they looked like tiny grains of black sand. They kind of stick to the skin -- like wet sand. Others have discribed white sand --but I personally believe that this is more likely to be parasites. For the urine -- if you can get a sample, let it sit for about 10 minutes and you will see sediment.>> hi - new to the group but have been reading these fabulous postings for about a week now (you guys are incredibly informed - i'm so glad i joined!). can you tell me more about "oxolate crystals?" i've noticed what my husband and i call sand or shiny sand in our son's bm's...the doctors brush it off or give me a puzzled look (surprise!!). could it be oxolate crystals or are they only found in urine? thank you, thank you!>
