Guest guest
Yes, Another important component that I left out of my summary....alkalinizing the cells. In my lengthier post I mentioned that I'm going to start Plaquenil for this purpose. However, I know my magnesium levels are low, and I'm concerned about tendon problems after my cipro experience, so I've been doing some Magnesium i.v.s before starting the Plaq. (I just took my first P. today, wish me luck.) I've never been convinced that C acidifies the body. For example, lemon juice, although acidic, when it hits the gut immediately becomes alkaline through some chemical interaction. I don't recall the specifics but I find it hard to believe that C is going to acidify us much. I'm not taking all of these (especially the supplements) as religiously as I could or should. It's just what I'm focusing on. The first three, I do take religiously as they have the biggest impact on my overall health. Anti-infection - abx - penicillin (zithro, etc.) Anti-inflammatory - arb - benicar (telmesartan, ibuprofen, etc.) Anti fungal - v-fend (diflucan, sporenox, nystatin, pro biotics etc.) De-tox - chlorella (charcoal, etc.) Blood thinning/anti-coagulant - nattokinase (bromelain, heparin, etc) Anti-oxidants - (or a/o enzyme precursors as in Protandem) Alkalinizer - Plaquenil or... Flagyl - not sure what category to put this under because it's not clear why it seems to be working for people. My doc thinks it's because there are actual parasites, but I think more may be going on. Nutritional aids: Digestive enzymes - Candex or... Nattokinase (for sticky blood) Nutritional supplements: (these are specific to my deficiencies, but seem to be common among pwc.) Vit Bs - specific to my deficiencies (or b-complex) Magnesium Vit D vitamin C - (bio-film buster, anti-oxidant etc.) salt - (for bp and bugs) Hygeine: keep mouth and sinuses clean with antimicrobials such as: salt, H202, iodine, silver, bleach, xylitol, grapefruit extract, etc. Testing: Regular blood testing or scanning (to search for possible focal infections). I just wanted to put this outline out there, because it's taken me a long time to get to this point. I know it looks like a lot, but if you realize why all of these areas probably need to be addressed in our illness, then it's easier to focus on finding the remedies that work best for you. We all have various manifestations of our illness, so obviously the thing that works for one may not work for another. That's where trial and error comes in, but in general, I think many of us share these common problem areas, co-infections, inflammation, toxicity (poryphia), gut flora/ph imbalances, coagulation/vascular issues and nutritional deficiencies. Probably oxygen as well. Any way you can get more oxygen into the cells is good (breathing, mild exercise, possibly HBOT). Many of our other symptoms, like endocrine, neuro, etc. probably stem from these other issues which have a kind of cascading effect. For me, reducing the infection and the inflammation have allowed me to start climbing higher up the ladder of this illness. Until I started knocking back my bugs with the right abx, and adding the anti-inflammatory and then the anti-fungal, it was pretty hard to focus on all the other things that could help me get better. It's a struggle to even get to the doctor when I'm CFSing. Since taking Penicillin/Benicar/V-fend, I've been taking control of my health & life again and the other treatment modalities are starting to fall together.
