Guest guest
Someone asked if birds are demanding. Not to me. I have thirteen of them. But they are messy. They also will eat a lot wider spectrum of food than common seed. That alone is not a balanced diet. The main issue is cleanliness. If you don't clean their cages often, they can get sick. Birds live longer if allowed to fly every day. Mine have a room of their own and an aviary in the summer. As of today, I also have a new pet, an Iguana named Wasabi. He is about six years old and 3.5 feet long. Jerry

My budgies fly free in my house whenever I am home. They generally prefer to remain in the dining room and play on their playgym and fly to and from the desk with the cages on and the kitchen table. I feed them greens and vegies regularly (favourites are broccoli and carrot) and mixed seeds. I am in the process of trying to find somewhere that sells pellets for budgies, as everywhere I have looked here only sells them for larger birds. I clean out the cages (dismantling them and washing everything) once a week and every day I change the newspaper and empty the bottom tray (and any smaller cleaning jobs that need doing such as cleaning a bunch of poopies off a perch) several times a day as needed. : As of today, I also have a new pet, an Iguana named Wasabi. He is about six years old and 3.5 feet long. Got photos? Iguanas are cute but it is illegal to keep them here. I am not even sure if they exist here actually. We do have plenty of reptiles but no pet ones yet. I believe that new laws regarding keeping pet reptiles are supposed to be being introduced about now, but I have not heard anything about it for the last few months. Take care, CZ
