Hello,I have had nine months of upper left jaw pain, which started with an infection (stopped by four rounds of antibiotics) which occurred about four months after a root canal.I have a referral from my dentist to go to the Oral Medicine Clinic at UC San Francisco where I will see Dr. Silverman. If I can get a referral from my HMO, I may also have a consult with Dr. Tuft in Oakland.Someone said that a Dr. Mosier in sdale, Arizona, also do how to read scans for possible osteomyelitis or osteonecrosis, but I don't have his contact information. I have had a gallium scan in which they ruled out osteomyelitis according to the radiologist at my HMO.Along with the jaw pain, I developed a flu-like aching in my upper back a couple months into the process which has really weakened me.
