Guest guest
Oh my gosh, I feel like sending this page to all my past doctors as an example of medical researchers that are with it, as opposed to just ignoring the big picture. But really, they think you can be immune to Lyme? Is that why some people never get it? (Like my Dad, who must have been bitten, having lived in the woods and gardened in MA for over 50 years but is in almost perfect health at 78). Or am I misunderstanding what they mean by " protective immunity " ? Are they saying it can be a good thing to see Lyme antibodies? Like maybe positive IgG could be fine in healthy people (as opposed to IgM)? - Kate On Thursday, November 3, 2005, at 09:27 AM, Barb Peck wrote: > Check this out. > Fawcett's team has applied for a patent for an assay that will > determine if a personm has immunity to Lyme disease. > > Anyone familiar with the Patent application? > > > http://www.udel.edu/bio/nemours/people/pfawcett.html
Guest guest
I didn't look at this study but the nature of the bellcurve of evolution is some folks, creatures, whatever, are always immune to a certain pathogen. If this were not so then the entire species would be wiped out and this never occurs. Genetic mutation means some folks are immune, even to AIDS they found. > > > Check this out. > > Fawcett's team has applied for a patent for an assay that will > > determine if a personm has immunity to Lyme disease. > > > > Anyone familiar with the Patent application? > > > > > > http://www.udel.edu/bio/nemours/people/pfawcett.html >
