Hi ,

Does it ALWAYS go to the bone? I think we need to be careful when we

make blanket statements. There are many who have testified that the

irrigator was the only thing that helped, after years of suffering.

I have one -- it helps, but perhaps I'm too lazy or tired, but it is

kind of a hassle to use and keep clean...

Just my two cents.

extended treatment is often necessary. Antibiotics do not penetrate

well into bone and the bacteria in chronic sinusitis are located

inside bone. Typically a minimum of three weeks or more of antibiotic

treatment is necessary. Sometimes 6-8 weeks of treatment may be

necessary. In some cases multiple different antibiotics need to be

used. In some cases where patients do not get better after they have

been treated with an adequate course of antibiotics, they will

receive intravenous antibiotics instead of, or as preparation for

Dr. Tichnor is a leading " Sinus Medicine " MD (in fact, I think he is

the only MD in the US to have that title), he is not an ENT. He

had chronic fungal sinusitis, which he was able to cure, with help.

If you look at some of your sinus CT's, notice how close the very

thin bones are to the mucosal surface. You may have to look at a

healthy sinus CT to see this if your mucosa is inflamed. There are

some on the web site.

Yes, surely not all chronic sinusitis is in the bone, or is it? I

really don't know, but suspect, yes.

Hi Dan,

I know what you mean. I used my irrigation bottle for about a year,

but after the infection made it all over my head, I said, " what's the

use " and quit using it all together. It was a big relief not to do it

anymore, was a real drag. As long as I'm on macs or tets, my sinuses

drain. I wish I could get a prescription for life. Lots of

acidophilous, water, no problem, and maybe I get 100% better someday

to boot.
