biopsy etc

Hi all,

Well, I had the biopsy of cysts on my ankle two weeks ago. These are

cysts that have been on my feet for decades - sometimes painful. I

also have cysts that come and go in all my other joints, particularly

hands. They are alarming and annoying and painful and interfere with

tendon action at times. These cysts are palpable and visible.

ANYWAY, I had a couple removed and biopsied and as Tony and I both

feared, we know NOTHING MORE than we did before the surgery.

My Surgeon promised to order labs on various bacteria I requested

such as chlamydia and staff and strepp. He did not in the end, run

those labs.

I also had samples sent to Igenex for Lyme testing - I have tested

positive in the past via Western Blot. They did PCR on the ankle

samples and the results are negative. I had been off all antibiotics

for two weeks prior to surgery. They put something in my IV during

surgery that I seriously had an effect from, 4 days after. It passed

in 4 days but was hell during - a serious herx, I would guess.

I have been taking doxy for almost 2 years now, off and on in

a " pulsing " manner interspersed with cilantro for chelating heavy

metals, and occasionally I would be Rx's Flagyl and amoxicillan. All

these last two years my condition has so dramatically improved from

being bed-ridden, to now almost " normal " but not stable enough to

attempt to go back to work or anything.

Doxy makes me pretty sick nowadays but i take it because I can not

afford anything else I have been prescribed so far.

Which brings me to today... My pain Dr is not Lyme-literate, but

willing to learn. These last few months I have emailed him various

studies and reports (Dr Burrascano, Stratton, Wheldon and my

favorite, Dr Y Omura, etc) and he has been willing to help. Today he

handed me 3 boxes of Augmentin and told me to do my research and find

out what the standard dose is for Augmentin for Lyme patients. It is

called Augmentin XR 1000mg. He suggested I go low-dose as he doesn't

want me to herx again.

Has anybody here tried this? I know it is a lot like amoxicillan.
