Guest guest
Hi All, I still don’t really understand the term "Herx" I was very sick a week or two after starting doxy and it lasted two or three days. I was curled up on the couch feeling icky all over, didn’t want to eat or anything and no fever or vomiting or anything like that. It did happen again a couple weeks after that... but I have no idea if that is "Herx"? We go to see the LLMD tomorrow.. I'm wondering if there is anything that I should be asking him about? The only thing he has us on is the 100 doxy in the AM and 200 doxy in the PM... Please don’t send any long links as my brain just cant handle it. I need very short specific answers. Thanks and Praying for each and every one of my new Lyme Friends! Blessings, Tammy <><
Guest guest
Hi Tammy. A herx is the aftermath of killing; the toxins resulting from of dead critters. Toxins can be felt in many different ways by different people: sometimes pockets of aches and pain, sometimes shifting nerve pain, sometimes brain fog and mental issues. Any detox stuff you can do can help reduce these, and protect and help unburden your detox organs.Be well,Léna Hi All, I still don’t really understand the term "Herx" I was very sick a week or two after starting doxy and it lasted two or three days. Guest guest
Hi Marsha, Thanks for the info.. We were dx'd about a month ago by LLMD after testing negative with our Family MD. Hubby and I have had it for a LOT of years.. just figured out what it was and started on long term antibiotics. We see the LLMD again tomorrow for our second visit. His lyme is in the early disseminated stage and he got it from a tick bite last June. He didn't believe that he had it even though the tests were positivie in August, so when he had symptoms in December, it woke him up. He is being treated by our family doctor as well as a specialist in North Carolina. He is doing other things as well, so it may or not have been the doxy, but I suspect so. I, on the other hand, have had lyme for 14-15 years. I didn't know until a few years ago and did antibiotics and then Buhner herbs. Another issue came up (mold) and I had to work on that first, so now I am going to use the Doug coil and herbs. I don't think antibiotics work as well with longstanding lyme disease because of the many forms that it can transform into. That is why the coil is supposed to be so effective---it can get deeper, is what I'm told and have read. Hope this helps and Blessings to you! Im very curious about folks using doxy.. and how they did on it at what dose? Because it seems many people on here are using herbal treatments and different protocols and Rifing. Thanks.. Herx Tammy, My husband had the same type reaction after 2 weeks on doxy. It lasted 1 day and we assumed it was a herx. When your killing protocol is working and you kill bacteria, the die-off becomes toxic and you start feeling ill... Until your body detoxes this out, you remain in a herx... > > We go to see the LLMD tomorrow.. I'm wondering if there is anything that I should be asking him about?
