Hi

My 4s doesn't include eating or gum chewing but I become insane when

I hear the letter " s " being hissed by a female voice on TV or radio,

so for me, no televison, narrated slide shows, or music that includes

female singers. Oh yeah, let me not forget...no high heel shoes and

no flip-flops.

Cheers,

Elaine

We could meet in Arkansas! Don't all get excited at once now. LOL! It

isn't exactly middle ground for many, but it would be a great place to

start a 4S community. It is really quiet here in the country. All I

hear are the birds, trains off in the distance, and the neighboring

cows. I can shut the birds out if they drive me nuts since I have

double pane windows. The church gum " pusher " lady was there today, but

she only gave it to one person before she bailed, and that person

didn't chew it for long. What a blessing that was. The more I get to

know people the more I start making comments about my 4S. I am not

going to let this condition cause me to isolate myself to the point

where I become a total recluse. I am rather reclusive, but I do need

SOME human contact.

I just came in from sitting outside and I have not felt such a peace

since I was little, before boom boxes, and loud motors. There are some

gum chewers here, like everywhere, but they are fairly easy to avoid.

It's almost like going back in time here in many ways. It is a poor

state, the job market sucks, (more so here than in the richer states)

but it really is pretty and peaceful. It does have its share of

drawbacks, but it has lots of good points too. Anyway...just

rambling....wouldn't it lovely to be in a roomful of people who had

the utmost respect for one another. I would be overcome with gratitude.

I second your thoughts on living in a rural area...I

live in the SoCal desert and it is glorious. Land is

cheap, the air is clean, and it is quiet quiet quiet!

I am close enough to the highway that I hear

occasional big trucks or Harleys going by, and we are

near a military base so sometimes we hear the big

booms of artillery practice. But that's IT...no

neighbors close enough to hear, rarely any cars going

down our road, just the sounds of the quail and

coyotes and my own fuzzy family (of which two dogs are

viciously wrestling right now, but it's too cute to

bother me.)

Doubtful I could make it to Arkansas, but I highly

recommend rural living for everyone on this board. In

the year I have been away from the city, my 4S

symptoms have dramatically reduced. I still have

triggers, but I am slower to notice and respond to

them. A big part of it is knowing that my home can be

my " safe place " where it is always quiet. In the

city, there simply was NO escaping the triggers, even

in my own car with the windows rolled up!

Boardwalk for $500? In 2007? Ha! Play Monopoly Here and Now (it's updated for today's economy) at Yahoo! Games.

I'm in SoCal, too. Maybe us SoCal folks should try to get together just to

see if we can " stand " being around each other ;-)
