Guest guest
o, I took nattokinase recently (a few months ago) to try and get at the fibrin in my blood to try and enhance the effect of abx. I took the nattokinase on an empty stomach twice a day and I took my abx with it if it was the kind of abx that required an empty stomach or with food a bit later on if the abx is a bit harsh on the stomach. I had a MASSIVE headache from a dose of abx that I can usually take without too much trouble. I stopped the experiment and later repeated it and wham! bad headache again (which seems to be my last and very stubborn bastion of infection). My tentative conclusion is that nattokinase does, somehow, potentiate the effect of abx. I should add that when I took nattokinase more casually at the same time as other supplements or after food I didn't have such an increase in the effect of abx. I had a similar reaction with bromelain but to a lesser extent. I dare not take nattokinase or bromelain for the time being, I am trying to give myself a rest from the headaches. Nelly [infections] Enzymes to potentiate the effects of antibiotics Hi:For those of you who are/had taken antibiotics with enzymes(bromelain, nattokinase, erc.), how do you recommend to combine both?Do you take for example bromelain at the same time as the antibiotic,or do you spread the doses of the bromelain throughout the day?Bromelain on an empty stomach? How long before/after meals? How many GDU's of bromelain do you recommend? 1000, 2000 or more? Thanks and any help is greatly appreciated,o
Guest guest
Hi o Were you the one who came to my website awhile back asking similar questions? First of all, Natto would be a better choice, it is stronger then Bromelain. Yes, you do want to take on an empty stomach. I use a brand of Natto that I really like because it all includes most of the other digestive enzymes. It contains 800 FU of Natto. Bromelain is also in it but at very small amounts. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. It is by Enzymedica. There are other formulas of enzymes but I have yet seen one that includes the Natto, doesn't mean it isn't out there though. I think it recommended you wait about 2 hours after you eat and about 1 hour before. I take mine first thing in the morning, before breakfast. > > Hi: > > For those of you who are/had taken antibiotics with enzymes > (bromelain, nattokinase, erc.), how do you recommend to combine both? > > Do you take for example bromelain at the same time as the antibiotic, > or do you spread the doses of the bromelain throughout the day? > Bromelain on an empty stomach? Guest guest
Nelly, that is what makes Natto so awesome. Take Natto and likely you will need less ABX. I think less ABX is always " a good thing " . I hate that term, thanks to Martha. > > o, > > I took nattokinase recently (a few months ago) to try and get at the fibrin in my blood to try and enhance the effect of abx. Guest guest
Hi jellybelly: Thanks for the info. Yes, I was the one that posted several months ago at your website, but unfortunately, I lost the URL. Any chance you could give me the address please? Thanks, o > > > > Hi: > > > > For those of you who are/had taken antibiotics with enzymes > > (bromelain, nattokinase, erc.), how do you recommend to combine both? > > > > Do you take for example bromelain at the same time as the antibiotic, > > or do you spread the doses of the bromelain throughout the day? > > Bromelain on an empty stomach? Guest guest
I took 10,000 gdu all at once for a few months and can say it helped and without side effects other than a little stomach discomfort when taken without food. Guest guest
o, I should have mentioned that you could have an allergic reaction to bromelain if you are allergic to bee stings. If you don't know, start slow and add to be safe. Guest guest
Thanks for the advice , but I have taken bromelain for digestive support without antibiotics in the past and never had any problem.
