Lately, I have been offering people one dollar for the gum in their

mouth. It seems to be working fantastically--nobody has actually

taken the dollar yet, and they have all gotten rid of the gum. It

seems to show them how important it is to me, and I would gladly give

them more than a dollar (even though I am a poor grad student) to get

rid of it anyway.
