My daughter also drank maybe 15/16oz/day. She would have neuro problems when taking miralax or lactalose for constipation. As she got older, it got worse. When 3-6, primarily constipated with colds etc. She is now 7 and on miralax with minimum of 25 oz water/day. We have seen no neuro signs with this amount of water. I think miralax was dehydrating her and she is very sensitive to changes in her system. One way we were able to increase her fluid intake was to use a straw. SHe is more compliant with drinking her water this way. We put the miralax in 4oz water and then add fluids of her choice: juices, little soda, strawb. milk, more water (which she prefers) etc. See if the straw helps. I also think the 3 day hospital stay to clean her out, followed by the GI visit made her role in this very clear to her. Her compliance was much better

following that small nightmare! Good luck-khaemkerj wrote: went to gi spec last thurs. he has an enlarged rectum, which of course, can heal. so, we just finisehd the "clean out" phase (high doses of senokot, otc laxative). Now we're starting the miralax for months til he heals and his brain realizes it won't hurt to go potty! (he 'll be 4 in a month) It just makes me mad that our ped. jst was like "he's fine, he's fine." for 10

months! The other hard thing is to get our son to drink 6-8 oz with the meds in it at one time. He has never been a big drinker, which I'm sure is one strong cause of all these problems !J.> >> > > So, this Thurs. we're going to a GI specialist to see what's up. > > Does anyone have any input on what exactly to ask the specialist? > > I'm gfoing to have a list of thigns to tell him. > > > > Thanks much for any input.> > > > J>H>>
