Guest guest
I have a VERY healthy respect for Oil of Oregano after using some of the standardized product straight, a couple drops under my tongue. Wow! It was hot and I smelled like an old Italian Woman all day long. LOL I have mixed CS and DMSO to compress a tooth that has an infected root and was suppose to be pulled two years ago. So far I still have the tooth and no pain. Mixing DMSO with EOs of any kind is something I approach with caution since some EOs are very potent and some are even toxic. The toxic ones are not generally available but some common EOs can trigger epilepsy. Others are not to be used during pregnancy (Pennyroyal and others). Schnaubelt's two books on EOs available from Amazon give a good summary of the chemistry and warnings so I won't go into detail on that. I use DMSO with Peppermint Oil quite regularly. I often apply the Peppermint EO then follow with a light application of dilute DMSO, ~20-30%. It really helps sore muscles and muscles in spasm (Milk of Magnesia for spasms, supplies instant Magnesium). I have also use DMSO in my nose as drops, mixed with a tiny bit of Peppermint oil to clear really stopped up sinuses, or just DMSO and CS, as drops. It burns like heck but it is so much better than a sinus migraine, which it will step down from a 10 to a 4 in about ten minutes. I hang my head over the edge of the bed and drop about three drops in each nostril then turn my head from one side to the other slowly to distribute it. As soon as I sit up my nose is draining mucous and I blow for another few minutes. The burning does not last more than a couple minutes if that. Mixed with Peppermint oil it is more intense but Peppermint oil is something I have come to like so much I keep it in my bedroom and in my purse. It helps to put it in my ears, on my temples and on the back of my neck all the way to that depression at the base of my skull when I have a headache, sinus or other wise. I also use it a lot on tired aching muscles and in baths. Magensium in a bath or dosed orally can really pick you up btw, and has been used for pre-srugical treatments and in the chroncially fatigued with good results. We are all so Mg deficient these days due to soil depletion and cortisol levels being so high all the time with constant stressors coming at us all day long. I have not tried mixing it with DMSO yet but I am sure that would be a great addition to my B12 Folic Acid DMSO pick me up that I use at least once a month for a few days tank up my liver stores of B12. DMSO and Oregano Oil, will have to ponder that one. I have not even braved the Oregano Oil cure since that one venture using it under my tongue. I seem to reach for the CS and Olive Leaf for viruses these days, but I always think of the Oregano Oil. Generally makes me hungry for spaghetti. Guest guest
This is not for the faint of mouth:) Long story short, I beat back another sinus infection but for many reasons couldn't deal it a final death blow because it's been humid, we've had the windows open all night, and I have tooth roots into my left sinuses. The infection gained its usual foothold around the roots of one particular root-canaled tooth. I had been slack in brushing my teeth with O-o-O lately, so I got busy doing that again. Last night before bed I put OoO on my toothbrush and massaged into into the gum at the afflicted area. Then I watched TV for a while and got the idea to somehow mix OoO and DMSO to get it to go THROUGH the gum. By this time the heat of the first application was gone. I dipped a Q-tip in DMSO then applied a drop of OoO to it, and swabbed both sides of the gum. Man alive did that ever light my fire. It wasn't long before it was all over that side of my mouth in the same way that a shot of novocaine spreads, but much faster. It went out to my lips, into my tongue, down my throat, back up my throat to my sinus, and through my gums to my sinus. It was wild. Today the pain is gone. There is just a little residual soreness but not enough to be bothersome. I gotta remember this one! Now I'm wondering if I cold take this: sticking a Q-tip so treated up a nostril? I know it would work, but could I take it? Daddybob
Guest guest
Thank you, DB. I will be giving that a try tonight. Off and on I have a problem with the molar, ear, nerve thing and you may have just given me the solution. I don't know about the nose, though. Very delicate in there. I tried H2O2 in the neti pot once and almost died of the pain. Bev PS - glad you are knocking off that stupid talk of lipo.
Guest guest
DB I cannot believe you did this. Heavenly days. OoO is intense stuff all on it's own. . . I bow to your manhood. LOL I feel faint just thinking about it. Donna http://www.excellentthings.com DMSO & Oil of Oregano for sinus infection
Guest guest
Just try it on the edge of the nose first. Something else to moisturize the noise is EMU oil. Also penetrates the skin but much less than DMSO. Different kind of numbing affect. As for OoO on your gums. How does it work? Are you cleaning, killing bacteria or tightening up the gums? --- ransley wrote: > This is not for the faint of mouth:) > > Long story short, I beat back another sinus > infection but for many reasons > couldn't deal it a final death blow because it's > been humid, we've had the > windows open all night, and I have tooth roots into > my left sinuses. Be careful- I've had a headache all day in the left sinus and left side of my head. I think it was a combination of this desperate act and crappy cloudy weather here today. Garnet- yeah, I don't think I'll be doing this up my nose now that I know how strong it is. - the idea was to use DMSO to transport the OoO to the tooth root through the gums. It worked, but boy is it rough. To all- I had thought about repeating this tonight, but I'm not going to just yet. Daddybob
Guest guest
I just take the Milk of Magnesia orally, and it stops the spasms in about five minutes. Although it seems to work intemitently in some cases like for menstrual cramps it can knock those out in short order some of the time and others it does not seem to help but it could be that one dose is not enough. If you take a lot of MOM you are not going to be able to get far from a toilet for a while since it will draw so much water into your colon that it will give you the runs. So will Epsom Salts since Magnesium sulfate is not a highly absorbable form. Magensium Hydrochloride is more absorbable, and when Silicon and Calcium are present in the right ratios it is more efficiently utilized as well. Ca:Mg is now thought by some to be needed 1:1 instead of the old 2:1, Mg being needed in greater amounts than previously thought. I also use Homeopathic Mag Phos or the Combination remedy of 5 Biochemic Cells Salts. Homeopathic dosing is suppose to increase absorption and utilization. I have not tried mixing DMSO with Epsom Salts DMSO should carry in magnesium sulfate, which is what Epsom Salts are. Generally I try to eat foods that are high in Mg to increase Mg since my belief is that food or plant based sources are more efficiently absorbed. There is a transdermal form of Mg that I have recently read about on the Eytonsearth clay list. I have forwarded Mark's post from that list. Guest guest
I read that there is a safety issue with using OoO on the mucus membraine. You might check on this since some sources of OoO have some toxic issues. ransley wrote: Bev wrote:>Thank you, DB. I will be giving that a try tonight.<Hey Bev! Long time no talk. Guest guest
Are you using undiluted essential oil Oregano? Or one of the pre-diluted ones sold at HFS etc? I put a drop of my essential Oregano oil that had been diluted in 4 times the amount of olive oil, and it burned and burned in my mouth. sol ransley wrote: > This is not for the faint of mouth:) > > Long story short, I beat back another sinus infection but for many reasons > couldn't deal it a final death blow because it's been humid, we've had the > windows open all night, and I have tooth roots into my left sinuses.
