Yes, it may not be an ideal and highly relevant adjunct to raw BPing, as

you sensed, due to the altered force curve.

But the groove is whatever you make it, moreso than in a shirt.

The Metal style, as a previous respondent commented, may not be really

compatible with this, either, bearing in mind that, IMHO, in its extreme,

this style hardly is reminiscent of a BP.

Reverse band bench REALLY changes the groove/power curve IMO..they

just feel 'weird'...then again I am strictly a raw bencher at this

point.

Rev bands to me make for a lotttt of " grinding " ...since it gets

heavier as it goes up you get to reallllly strain, lol

Perhaps it is not a good idea to use rev bands close to a meet since

they do mess with the groove?
