Guest guest
OK- I just back from my Doc because of intermittant radiating pain on my right side of 3 weeks duration (my right Kidney is not located where it should be- mines in my pelvis shoved up against my uterus - operated on in 1956 - but still functioning last time it was checked). Ibuprofen didn't touch the pain, so I suspected maybe something else going on- infection maybe?- although I'm not tired, and have no fever - but I don't present like the population at large, and have a high pain threshold. I've been known to be walking around with a 18K WBC count in my past. My urine was off the chart for leucocytes and I was in the state of ketosis.. the ketosis he though was from fasting 14 hrs prior to todays blood tests. That seems awfully fast to drop into that condition (ketosis) to me - I'm going to do some reading on that. For abx, I opted to wait till the culture and abx susceptibility tests were done - he thought by next Tues. so that I get the right abx. He'll order a broad spectrum abx before then if I want one- I just have to call him. I've had this problem since I had the throat infection a month ago - I wonder if it's the same bug somehow.... or a different one. I also want to have blood drawn for Lyme testing before I go back on any abx- so I'd like to hold off till Tuesday- I guess it depends. But anyway- This is the Doc I see for Lyme - an ALTMD - and he suggested culture and suseptibilty testing before I could suggest it. (And he told me to eat something right away- so I'm eating now). I'll keep you posted... Looks like I'm never going to be " off " antibiotics for something or another for longer than 8 months.. QUESTION: This is the 3rd infection I've had since getting rid of my Lyme symptoms and going off Lyme abx. Is this a case of allowing sub-clinical populations to finally get going after erradicating the major pathogen (I've read multiple pathogens can keep each other in check) or is this something I contracted recently? Guest guest
Those are good questions, Barb. Perhaps going back to the pulsing you did for 18 months, once you get past this, is not a bad idea. Borrelia and babesia seem to have evolved to persist. I think your pulsing idea was wise as it knocked them back without knocking you out. But that doesn't mean they disappeared for good. You responded so well to the pulsing. It may be that your immune system was keeping them in check until a new pathogen (strep throat) came along, and then they were able to regrow. I doubt it is that they, once eliminated, allowed other meanies to come in much later. > > OK- I just back from my Doc because of intermittant radiating pain > on my right side of 3 weeks duration (my right Kidney is not located > where it should be- mines in my pelvis shoved up against my uterus - > operated on in 1956 - but still functioning last time it was checked). > > Ibuprofen didn't touch the pain, so I suspected maybe something else > going on- infection maybe?- although I'm not tired, and have no > fever - but I don't present like the population at large, and have a > high pain threshold.
