If you want to vax him in the future with the flu vaccine, ask that they get you the pre-filled (i.e. shipped from the company) preservative free version. Evidence of Harm would be a good book to read to explain the controversy surrounding the thimerosal-containing vaccines (ethylmercury). Guest guest
Toxic stew! OMG - I can't believe this! No wonder there's such an increase in ADD/ADHD and all the other disorders we've seen rising in kids...and this is totally legal! Makes you wonder - if the government were growing weed, I'm sure would they legalize medicinal marijuana use. Thanks for the enlightenment, Jennie. We're pretty much at the end of the regular vaccinations, but I'm concerned now about the flu shot. Something I'll definitely have to consider discontinuing. and SammyJennie wrote: Some of the research on these ingredients are just as damaging as the mercury!! Guest guest
Sometime I will find that pubmed article about how the flu vax was not effective for asthmatics. I'm sure there are articles that promote it, but it's just nice to see articles that dispute it's effectiveness, too...gives one something to think about. Anyway, the thing I disagree with the most about the flu shot for asthmatics (aside from the fact that it contains thimerosal which is a neurotoxin) is that the thimerosal interferes with the body's production of glutathione, and glutathione is very much needed by the lungs. So it just seems really counterproductive to inject something into the body that can deplete something the lungs really need. If you decide to do the flu vax, it's got to be a single-dose preservative free kind to avoid the thimerosal (it still has about 1 to 2 micrograms of ethylmercury though). Anyway, my son used to get the flu vax, and his asthma and health were very bad during those years. He doesn't get the shot anymore and does well in the wintertime. If he gets a runny nose, it doesn't automatically go into a respiratory problem anymore. Used to be we would have to nebulize him around the clock with albuterol because any "cold" exacerbated his asthma severely. I think the flu shot "benefit" to asthma is highly overrated. One of my favorite snippets on the flu shot effectiveness in the elderly inadvertently came from a study where they were trying to see if tai chi had any benefit to the elderly. They had two groups--one that learned tai chi and one that did not. All were given the flu shot. Then they had their antibody levels measured a set time afterwards. The tai chi group had a decent number of people that were able to show high enough antibody levels, showing their immune systems had mounted a decent response to the shot. The group that did not have tai chi... they had so few elderly folks register enough antibodies that it was an example of just how INeffective the flu shot is for the elderly. I'll have to find that article. W Cohen wrote: Toxic stew! OMG - I can't believe this!
