I would love to also, but never have. I have tons of books on the subject and watch everything I can on the subject on public television and the RFD channel.

My daughter who has a degree in studio art makes her living working for a landscape architect, at present, and spends her spare time helping me with our place. A major portion of any vacation is spent looking at gardens, auboretums, etc, and getting ideas. Florida is enough like coastal Mississippi, and the Disney gardners are real pioneers in many aspects of tropical and subtropical gardening, so it is a rich source of ideas. We can go several years without getting a hard freeze in sheltered areas. Having said that, we did lose a bunch of things while we were gone to a light freeze. Roses, pansies, violas, chrysanthemums, and several other things survived.

As far as the attractions at Disney, we can go to a park and maybe go on one or two rides. The rest of the time we are looking at plantings and people watching. Lots of days we do not even go to the parks. For those who love natural gardening, Fort Wilderness is a treat. We rent a cabin there, and a golf cart and explore. The gardeners kind of do their own thing there and you can find some amazing and beautiful innovations.

Another thing few people know about the Orlando area is that there is the largest collection of glass in the world in nearby Winter Park at the Morse museum.

We always reserve a day to visit there. Apologies to those who hate off topic rants.
