Guest guest
Jill, Barb, , and me (Nelly-with the fecal phobia) Nothing very serious happened (or it went over my head), has a certain "intensity" and I have a certain "way of being emotive and sarcastic, and angry and pissed off etc-not a nice person, in fact". My post was emotive as I realise was mentioning poo research by T Borody who seems to have loads of research to his name, that I would be interested in now, but he was a turd when I saw him, didn't take me seriously at all, you see, I was very fit, young, super healthy life-style, it's just that I had just lost 10 kg and I had gut pain and diarrhea and fatigue. He patronised me out of the hospital. So when I see his name crop up as someone attributing IBS (which was my diagnosis) to infections and treating them as such, it makes me more than emotive, it makes me furious! I told the guy over and over agin it was infectious, that the flagyl helped tremendously. But the studies hadn't been done then, so he pat-pat me, off you go little girl, you are FEELING the pain although we know it isn't there, there! there! Have plenty of activities and you'll forget all about it!!! Wouldn't you have got emotive? I think I might ring him up tomorrow and congratulate him on his carreer, and ask if he remembers me and my IBS! Let's all forget whatever (I've forgotten what-lyme!!) we'll all friends, we've known each other for such a lonh time!! Were like family. BTW: Jacques brought back Jill's article in print and he read it on his way back from Seattle, thought it was good and very informative. Good that it looks at all kind of various infections and the devastation they can cause. If only a few doctors could READ. I am quite sure doctors wait for things to get explained in the media before they believe it. We have 2 members of our French Lyme group (Lyme-fr.com) who have managed to get themselves on the best known, best watched show where issues of interest are discussed (quite classy, no more trash than is absolutely necessary). It's a weekly show and it is watched by a very large audience, it's on a major channel, prime-time. The title is "these invisible illnesses or handicaps: how are they affecting your life, your relationships, your work etc", so there will be other illnesses representend (like FM/CFS and there'll also be CFS/FM ) As someone said: at least we're sure to have several people with Lyme on the show!! Could have a big impact as hardly anybody in France has ever heard the word Lyme and when they do get it, doctors tell them it's "nothing to worry about, a couple of weeks of abx and no sequelae", so we are bracing ut for a tsunami of new requests to join the group after the show. We had 1349 messages in september!! and we only have one ID doctor who's so busy he can only see 3 patients per week (when he's not away or advising ministers about the avian flu!) I don't know how we'll cope if more people realise about Lyme after the show. Guest guest
Yes, it's definitely one of my possible candidates, but my bowel is now working fine, the only thing would be if spores of C.difficile are deep inside the wall of the gut.Worse, they might've managed to travel to my spine and from there to my brain. C difficile is not the only thing imidazoles are effective against, protozoans, anearobes (besides c difficile), Borrelia in cyct forms and probably many others. The bowek infections caused by C difficile are usually very severe, and you start shedding your gut lining (I never had that). My diahrrea was loose to liquide stools all the time for 20 years and occasional bouts of excrutiating pains. I thought, still thinking of C difficile but like Jill, I was bitten, got the EM rash, and also had all this intestinal stuff going on.
