Guest guest Posted October 8, 2005 Report Share Posted October 8, 2005 I thought maybe we could encourage each other by sharing what we did today to move forward on our journey toward health and fitness. Or maybe what we plan to do tommorrow. I went to the gym today and worked out while my son took karate. Then we worked out some more together - he is a bit chubby, so we can encourage each other. Dh and other ds are naturally skinny:( I don't enjoy exercising, any kind. Well, I used to like international folk dancing, but I am not in good enough shape to do that. But I like to read, so I bring a book and read on the bike, the treadmill or leg machines. Do you think I should invest in an i pod or something so I can listen to something interesting? It is too awkward to use a mini-tape player or cd-player and have to wear the thing around my waist. I like listening to books on tape or interesting talk programs. I have asthma and some back problems, so I have to work around them. It seems that every time I decide to go on a fitness regime something interferes - its like a conspiracy:) - the kids get sick, I get sick, something happens.....Then I lose steam. Stopping by Starbucks on the way to the gym is really helpful. I bet if Steve told the restaurants to fix him a healthy meal, without even looking at the menu to get tempted, they would be happy to accomodate him. Note for Steve: I live not too far away from your family - in north county San Diego. We have a friend who also had a lot of weight to lose and kept gaining it back.
