A couple of weeks ago, I was prescribed a nasal spray containing fluticasone propionate, a synthetic corticosteroid, for ear problems. A few days after taking it I had a severe reaction - sudden uncontrollable shaking and shivering, a rush of ....something... I can't describe, severe pain, a very tender lump in my neck, cold hands, extermely weak and lightheaded. I'm told my lips went blue and I was very hot. When I tried to get up I almost fainted. Fortunately it was short lived - I improved over the following three days and, apart from some extra weakness, especially in my legs, I am now recovered.

I assume this was a flare up of infection cause by suppression of the immune system, but if anyone has any other ideas I'd be pleased to hear them. If anyone has had this medication or anything similar, please let me know.

All the best
