THe gentleman at the local temple here was telling me that any position other then general office is volunteer. That means at the temple most every one is there because they want to be there to help. He also informed me that they were dying off, due to the lower number new members who enrolled. This hospital is a masonic hospital, whose money is provided by master masons who deiced to become shiners and give their dues to the temples, which in return support the hospitals. Now days alot of younger people do not want to become masons, and as a result the hospitals are facing a short fall in cash. One important thing to do would be to renew the ranks. Make more young shiners to carry on the tradition of helping children. The temples are not rich, this is a part of the masons that wants to help others, to improve their lives, to make the world a > > better place. THis is a worthy organization. I know I am going to join, to try to help other children like my daughter , because I know there are so many that need their help, so many that cant afford what they provide. > > > > As stated above the hospitals have been provided by the many shiners dues. They have not asked for donations, they didn't have to, people want to help others, so they became shiners. However, with the lack of people wanting to become shiners, it is due time they ask for help form others. > > > > I like the ideas passing around and they are postive. So maybe it is time for them to go from a organization that relays solely on to dues, to one that takes donations. > > >
