Guest guest
Thanks all for the great advice. I will put this training tips into action immediately. Does anyone think that some training could be detrimental to our goal? Such as long distance running. I few of us - recently developed an interest in running hoping that we may even enter a half marathon this summer, then a full marathon next summer. Any thoughts, or can we continue? Now this does not mean you can not do both, but to EXCELL and acheive elite performance it is best to pick one or the other, unless they have opposing seasons (meaning marathon in summer, Firefit in winter which gives you about 5-6 months prep for each event). This is why you will probably never see a world class distance runner also being a world class powerlifter or OL. Now, distance running can still be used as part of a training cycle but if your goal is elite or maximum performance in the firefit then I would limit the amount you do and focus on other types of training that will be more beneficial (as provided in previous posts by some members). Be very clear on your goals and objectives. Good Luck. Be Well, Mike Reid Gothenborg, Sweden & Winnipeg, Canada
