Guest guest
Hi Pia Im not Marsha, but my wife had EST (its called ECT over here in Australia) for Post Natal Depression/Psychosis, as far as my experience goes as a bystander, this treatment is: 1) Temporary 2) An alternative when the body is not responding to drugs (and back to one – temporary relief from a constant unbearable depressive state) 3) Has short term and long term memory loss (to quiet an extent) It might well jolt us happy, but I wouldn’t want to try it personally to see if it fixes 4S, unless I was in a deep depressive state that I could not get out of. Just my thoughts from my wife’s experience and what she has told me, not sure she would do it again. I read an article in THE VILLAGE VOICE and it has come a long way in helping depression so maybe a little jolt can rewire our sensitivity!!! OR MAKE IT WORSE?? There have been no traumatic events in my childhood; thus, there is no past trauma associated with my 4s. There is the possibility that people are born with a pre-disposition for 4s, and a traumatic event is the precipitating factor for its realization [for some people].
